PKZIP has been providing industry-leading ZIP compression for DOS systems for many years.  PKWARE® is committed to file interoperability, therefore, files saved using the original PKZIP products can still be opened by any current PKWARE products.

  • Script pkzip, pkunzip, and pksfx functions with the command-line syntax or use with batch files on your older PC
  • Support Long File Names (LFNs) — Windows 95 only
  • Back-up your entire hard disk with PKZIP for DOS’s ability to produce a ZIP archive with storage for up to 16,000 files
  • Span large ZIP archives across multiple floppy diskettes without having to format disks ahead of time

  • Should not be used on 64-bit operating systems
