Job Title:        Solutions Engineer

Position Summary

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for providing IT security expertise as the technical foundation for the domestic sales team, focusing on pre-sales activities.  The Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in driving business and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop solution landscapes for individual account in the region.
  • Identify competitive threats and market changes and recommending technical responses to them.
  • Project management responsibilities for all product evaluations within the region ensuring all success criteria and test plans are delivered and product differentiator identified.
  • Collaborate with sales team to provide technical qualification of prospects as well as sales and technical support such as technology needs discovery, product demonstrations and seminars, RFI/RFP responses, participating in tradeshows, seminars and webinars and post-sales implementation.
  • Collaborate with the product management team to provide customer feedback on new and existing product features and product performance as well as to provide competitive product information.

Requirements

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree, technical degree is preferred.  Security certifications (i.e., CISSP) and/or advanced degrees in relevant filed will be given additional consideration.
  • Experience: 5+ years as a: sales engineer, account manager, inside and/or technical product support representative.  Prior direct hands on experience with IBM mainframes, preferably as systems engineer or sales engineer, strongly preferred.  Prior direct customer contact providing technical product information and/or support is essential.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to adapt communications based on the technical level of the audience. 
  • Knowledge of software security technologies including digital encryption and signing, directory services management and relevant standards and some familiarity with PKI and digital certificate standards and products is desired.
  • Knowledge of encryption algorithms and ciphers with a focus toward industry standards such as 3DES and AES is desired.
  • Ability to learn and competency in multiple enterprise computing platforms and associated operating systems (i.e., System Z, IBM I, UNIX/Linux, Windows desktop and server)
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with customers/prospects at multiple levels within an organization and other third-parties including partners, suppliers, analysts and press.
